Anyone here tried putting on an aftermarket bypass valve on their kits?? just curious what the kit would sound like if the bypass valve was vented to atmosphere. :P

I recently installed hks sc and used the flash tuner tune ron 91 . Everything went smoothly. Just curious on cold start my afr is running lean for 1 minute around 15-18 bouncing around those range and i can hear the exhaust back firing . And after 1 minute it will idle and stay on 14.6. Its only on cold start it runs lean . Is this normal? Or anything i need to check

on cold start the car is always targeting a bit leaner (around 15.44), fuel system status would be 1 (front sensor not ready/in temp yet) and is basically a lean open loop
so it s normal, when the target then goes to around 14.7, it becomes a closed loop (fuel system status 2) and the measured afr follows the target

i also guess the backfiring you think you re hearing is just a loud cold start with negative timings? maybe hks just didn t remove the loud cold start, i wouldn t worry

i think it s not doable the venting to atmosphere since the blow off valve on the hks sc kit is after the maf sensor, so you would cause problems to the afr

Any one using bigger/aftermarket intercooler with their v2/v3 kits?? i live in a tropical country with summer temps crossing 40c, so thinking of getting a bigger intercooler for lowering the intake temperatures (HKS upgrade kit too expensive).

I have a V1 kit with an over sized intercooler. Made it difficult to find a place for the traction fluid and oil coolers.

Looking at getting my kit installed (V3) here within the next month. I will be running a fairly conservative tune due to me already beating the sh** out of my car at drift events. My setup that will change from stock are: 700cc DW injectors / Innovative o2 / NonStopTuning 19 row Oil cooler. Tuning will be done via OFT.

I will hopefully in the future be upgrading I/C size as well as running a mini electric fan set up on the traction fluid cooler.

Nice to see this thread still alive... I don't see many groups alive and talking about the kit so much when I personally feel like its one of the better kits on the market.

Does anyone have an "off the shelf" part number for a belt replacement?

(apologies for all the jumping around but one of my first posts on the forums and would rather get it all out than make a bunch of 'mini reply's')

61 pages and no one ever talked about this

Is it suggested/does this kit need to mount a PCV valve from WRX or a second 1way check valve from PCV to Intake manifold, to avoid pressurize the crank case?

I installed a WRX PCV valve, but tbh I really don't think it makes any difference.

Any con's to it? i mean it is always better to have it (wrx pcv or check valve) than not to have it right?
