I’ve been trying to research the difference between the jdm version (part number 12001-at012) and the US only v3 (part number 12001-kt003a)

They all seem to use the same super charger so I’m not sure what the difference is

kt003a (with flash editor) and kt003 (withou flash editor) seem to use the supercharger part of v2 12001-at009 kit, the "old" grey one

12001-at012 also called GT2 supercharger, uses the new black gt2-7040L supercharger
apparently improved reliability, and better look, same price

I really hope the updated version turns out more reliable in real world application. One reason I was hesitant about this kit was because of various reliability issues. So this news pleases me.

Is the flash editor worth it or is it better to just use ecutek?

flash editor is only for JDM or USDM, dont know if you could use it in australia
anyway it s very expensive and you need HKS master tuner to do even small modification, like to let a MAP 3 bar work, even OFT is better than that then :P

@Kylebrz any update with fixing the supercharger issue?

I was driving around city at night, pushing the car a bit, and after a while the HKS V2 supercharger just stopped boosting, ther was no weird noises, i check the vacuum line, and the traction fluid reservoir, everything seems fine. So i am guessing the issue is the same as the ones discussed before.

So has anyone came up with any solutions?

How is your SC mileage? Oil grade? Belt maintenance and tensioner are OK?

Sc mileage around 10,000 km, belt tore on me 4 times, replaced with hks 6pk2110, but last one i used 6pk2100 as i couldnt get hks on time. It was a snug fit with a few degrees of play left in the tensioner. Running on 0w30, i always keep an eye on the oil temp and pressure.

I think HKS did reinforce the threaded part of the annulus which has been prone to failure in several cases. It would be helpful if someone at HKS did actually confirm this but I don't think they'd continue to sell failure-prone components.

My replacement supercharger has been fine this year and I suspect with a bit of care should remain that way.

You will need to purchase a replacement blower and traction fluid.

I opened the supercharger, and its the same issue, the threads gave out, someone is making the plate with a better material. Will keep everyone posted.

I need traction fluid, but when i search online, there are two types, low viscosity and high viscosity, which one is for the V2?

High viscosity for hot climates, low for cooler climates.

Hmmm I'm wonder when the GT2 kit will come to the US. I'm curious of the improvements it's supposed to have.
