That's an old post, is this guy still open? And generally not a good sign that you can just show up, and he'll work on your car because he doesn't have other customers. Mechanics (or tuners, detailers, etc) who are not busy, are usually not great, or they're just starting out. Maybe go for something simple, and see how it goes. |

The place is definitely still open but it has changed a lot. Where it used to be a cool old school neighborhood shop it's a full on, all about the dollar and not in a good way, service facility now. Hey, like I said in the post a few years ago it was his first year so yeah, it was quiet enough to have that kind of drive up service. I miss those kind of shops enough that I'm doing a lot more of my own work than I've ever done before, changing the rear hub bearings again this week.

Spotted a red kouki FT-86 on the Canadian portion of the Taconic/Sprain SB today. Big wheels, suspension, and running a full exhaust w/ stage 2 tune, if I heard you correctly. Sure sounded like a header car.
Anyway my car has the backseat and spare/tools removed, and sub-15lb wheels. We had 3 friendly runs from 54 to 55MPH (didn't want to get a ticket, ofc)... the last run was a *perfectly* timed start, clear road, and a long gear. Pretty darned even, but lightweight took the day by a nose. I'm honestly pretty surprised, as I thought that he'd pull away, esp after 3rd. It was a well driven car, too. Thanks for making my commute a little more fun |
