P&L Turbo kit Owners thread

Well, It's far beyond time to make this thread topic, although from what I do know of the Local owners this thread might be slow. I am hopeful this will have them come out of the woodwork.

Owners:

@Hawaiian 506hp @ 18psi on E73
@Supermassive
@ebielat
@Frs300

I will be editing this as I get to it, I've been pretty busy lately.

Lets start with what everyone wants to see, The numbers. This was @ 18 psi with E73.

I currently have put over 5000 miles on my kit and as most people can tell you, I drive it pretty hard. I offer everyone locally rides, and have even let a lot of them drive it (@TouchMyHonda, @ebielat, @MikeM5, @CircuitJerk, @phat 86 etc...)

I have supplemented my kit with Id100 injectors, and a DW fuel pump, as well as the @PrimeMotoring Flex Fuel kit. The tune was done by @JuniorAWD who has installed this setup at least a half dozen times at @PrimeMotoring as well as @P&L Motorsports.

If you have any questions, fire away.

Wow thanks for making this

These cars are unbelievable. I do have a few questions that I'm sure others have as well. I've noticed most of these kits are located in the Chicago area. I plan to do the install myself, but wonder if any tuners in the California area would have experience with the P&L platform to dyno tune the car. I've noticed that @DeliciousTuning has this kit on their site just now and am of joy.

I was wondering if you could shed some light on the PTE used (turbine housing, air-cooled, ball bearing).

Thanks! Didn't mean to call you out on the other post, after reading into PTE and their turbos, definitely intrigued!

Well, P&L is near Chicago, and I know does discounted packages for the locals for install and tune. That would explain why there are a few here, but Prime is on the east coast and has set up 4-5 of them, and I know a few kits were sent out of country.

Being local, and seeing the kit in person, as well as riding in a boosted car helped me make up my mind. The turbo spools up quickly, and the power delivery is fairly linear. A few locals were surprised at how linear the power delivery felt. You do still get that turbo kick when it spools, but it doesn't suffer from big turbo syndrome.
@PrimeMotoring can attest to the ease of install.

Why @P&L Motorsports opted for the PTE over GTX, I can't answer that as well as they can, and maybe they will weigh in.

What I do know of the turbo in their stage 1 kit is that they have a custom billet wheel so it isn't a standard off the shelf Precision turbo.

I also don't really recall being called out in any other threads. It's an internet forum, we are all opinionated, add in the fact that we are car enthusiast it can bring some heated conversations. I never take anything on a forum too seriously .

If you are on the west coast looking for dyno tuning (or installation) you can contact my good friend Mitch who tunes for Cobb Tuning SoCal. We have previously worked together at another performance shop, so I am more than confident in his tuning abilities!

It really depends on the weather. I'm running 265 z1 in the rear and with the way boost comes on it's mostly stable when it's above 60 degrees. Last night though it was 55 and the tires weren't keeping heat. The back tried to walk out on me in second when it hit boost, but nothing I couldn't manage.

It's just like any RWD, if you don't give it respect, it won't respect you back and bite you. I can spin the tires when I want to at will, but it won't do it without a little encouragement.
