Main reason why I didn't like the TRD option since it was lighter & the weird design didn't win me over. Overall it seems like I don't like anything TRD on this car apart from the spoiler >__<

Yeah, I'm going to just go with the stock oil filter also since the STI one seems over-priced just like the TRD one.

Yeah, I don't want to get too deep into modifications. I'm pretty much complete with my car once I place the order on all the STI parts I want in November (Apart from the Fujitsubo Header and some minor cosmetic mods)

I won't even order the Draw Stiffeners since the car already handles perfectly for me and I don't find it necessary.
I already can take corners and highway on-ramps faster than I ever could in my WRX STI with coilovers and a lot more hp haha.
STI steering wheel is a nice upgrade. Nicer material and not too much thicker.

STI shift knob has perfect weight IMO, better than the Raceseng or other too large or too heavy shift knobs.

You might like the TRD trunk aero piece as well as the quick shifter and door latches. Those are nice subtle pieces... At least I enjoy them. 👍

Yea I've always just go for as much caster as possible. 5.8 degrees with my BRZ right now and that's as much as it'll go.

I'm pretty sure my old Mk.5 Golf GTI had caster angle in the high 6 degrees range. I've once read that's an usual German car trait for high speed stability feel with the steering.

I have 6.12 degrees with OEM top hats and Sachs coilovers. It looks that Sachs tried to get as much as possible with their product. Overall, they are quite aggressive in Germany and trying to compete with Bilstein. I believe it is one of the reasons new tS US and tS JDM will go with a Sachs suspension.

Here are the advantages of more positive caster:
- Increased dynamic negative camber in turns
- Improved high speed stability
- Improved road feel, steering feedback and sensitivity
- Increased steering weight
- Improved steering turn-in response during corner entry

I forgot to mention that with the stock shocks my caster was only 5.4 degrees max.

Interesting tidbit: the Vbars are painted black for the USDM tS. Looks like they are trying their best to avoid any STi branding on the car

I noticed that too but I don’t think they’re avoiding STI branding, especially when the wing end plates have STI on it, the Gauge cluster has the STI logo on it, the 4.2 inch multi function display will start-up with the STI logo, wheel caps etc. etc.

Is it possible to get the covers for the holes left and right of the grille separately?

Those black STI v bars look like stock braces with a simple rubber sleeve on them. Is there anything actually different?
