Well it's smart on their part. US expectations of what a "STI" car doesn't match the vehicle. By avoiding putting STi badges on the car, they can claim it was never a "BRZ STI". Also my guess is that it continues to cultivate STI as a model designation for the WRX in the US.

If you're looking to do the new front end, you should wait until the actual STi badge for it comes out. My guess is since we saw the test car with the badges, there is most likely a JDM tS coming as well that has the STi badge back on.

Yeah, I mean I get why they did it. Sure doesn't satisfy us purists tho haha!

Yes, I agree with you too. I foresee another JDM tS as before, with the more desirable parts.

I have actually just purchased a replacement MY2014 bumper and decided to remain with the 2015 tS. After seeing the revised front under spoiler/ bumper etc and pricing new headlights + DRLs I felt keeping with the 2015 look would be better... and a bit more special. I certainly do want to wait for the red bumper garnishes for the front and back tho. I image you'll be waiting too!

Would you speculate on such vehicle also making it to the US, or 2018 TS being the best we probably get?

Just wanted to add that the JDM STI badge and setting works with the 2017 bumper as I installed it on mine but the positioning is a bit lower (under the first grille fin) as opposed to the top; and only 1 of the 2 pre-cut holes 'snap-in' which still keeps it durable with a screw. Hard to describe but it works. I believe the Michigan spotted BRZ which had the STI logos on it had that in the front grille as well.

They need to stop dragging their feet releasing specifics. I'm ready to pull the trigger on a 2017 with PP but waiting on the final release specs of this car.

I know right? Main reason I bought the Series.Blue is because it's just that much closer to a true tS and was cheaper than be buying the body kit, under panels, etc.

Still waiting to see if there's more info on this and if it's hiding any other gems.

The main reason with the Series.Blue was for looks. It's nothing close to the tS in terms of handling.

Buying the tS is really for the parts that you can't readily see from the outside (i.e. flexible v-bars, flexible draw stiffeners, pillowball rear suspension joints, stiffer rear axles, different springs and shocks, etc).
