The "if you wanna kiss the backside of white musicians make a thread about it" Thread

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...6&postcount=27

So is anybody in to progressive rock? Bands like:
Opeth
Porcupine Tree
BTBAM
Pink Floyd

Ok then.

Have you heard the new Portnoy-less album? Thoughts?

Yes... It is better than I thought it would be... The thing I noticed about was that MIke M. Is playing the drums mainly following what the guitar does... He is not doing what port now used to do which was separating the drums from what the group would do... But overall I liked it... I already went to see them live post portnoy... And it is sad to say that dream theater is still strong as ever without portnoy (I'm a drummer and like portnoy as a drummer) I had my hopes he would come back anytime soon... I don't see that happening now...

The same thing happened with my favorite band Opeth. They lost their guitarist, drummer and keyboardist in the past few years. Their replacements are working out just fine. I do miss that drummer though. Martin Lopez had a very unique sound.

I saw opeth and btbam live a couple years ago... They were the starting band for dream theater, mike portnoy had selected them to play before them down here in Miami... They were pretty good...
