Spent hours upon hours, learning the differences between wider and narrower and staggered and offset etc etc etc tires and wheels.
I run a 2015 FR-S with stock tires and wheels and a Jackson Racing Supercharger. It's my daily driver, but I like to pull it and I definitely take it onto backroads for the closest thing to racing I can manage. Based on all of that research, I finally determined that, well, I guess the stock tire size is pretty damn ideal for someone who wants to maintain the characteristic handling but wants to add more grip with better compound. Based on that, I've settled on the PS4S as my next purchase. Yes we are. That being said however, I am having a hell of a time finding wheels. My FR-S is Ultramarine blue. I want white rims. Fight me. Someone, anyone, please save me from my endless googling and rabbit-holeing. I'm looking for reasonably lightweight wheels, 5-spoke or otherwise, that are $250 each or less and will fit the 215/45ZR17 PS4Ss I'm aiming for. Someone lend a hand? |

If you want to use stock tire size .. nothing wrong with using stock wheels
But if you still in future will think that wider tires are needed .. i'd think of slightly wider wheels, for example x8. Maybe even of slightly less offset to space slightly wider, eg. +38? Stock sized tires will fit on wider wheel aswell, but wider tires won't feel sloppy due being too wide for a wheel. |

AP Sprint BBK: Minimum spacer width for 2020 base 86 wheels?
I recently had an AP Sprint brake kit installed. 10mm spacers were recommended for the stock wheels on my 2020 base Toyota 86, but the wheel spokes do not clear the brakes. It has -3 degrees of camber on the front. Is it a matter of a wider spacer, and if so, how wide?

I had longer studs installed. Anyone have an idea what size spacer I might need to clear the spokes?

I believe the stock offset on your wheels is +48 adding a 10mm spacer would make it +38. I would think that is enough room to clear the brakes but cannot say definitely. Maybe someone else can confirm if 10mm would be enough.

Hey yall, I am new to this so might be a stupid question but any help is appreciated. I just found a good deal for a specific set of wheels I want to know if a 18x9.5 +22 offset will fit (no rubbing etc) on my 2017 Toyota 86 all stock. I dont want to change anything in the near future. just wanted to upgrade the wheels and this option is for a lot cheaper than other I found so far. Also any recommendation on tires would be good. thanks
