If it is the dipstick leaking, I understand it can be removed and the rubber "O" ring replaced. humfrz |

My dipstick and tube were replaced during the recall. I noticed when I checked the oil that "this isn't my dipstick". I know because I sanded mine so I could read it. And this one is brand new smooth (unreadable). I don't know, maybe it isn't my engine! I guess they must have broken it doing the recall. But mine doesn't have an o ring, it's glued in with some kind of blue sealant. But at least it doesn't leak.

I got my 2013 brz serviced for valve spring recall back in August this year and the oil burning smell was becoming more of frequent occurrence with occasional white smokes coming out of hood so I have been checking for a while.
It looks like I have an oil leak right by the bottom of oil dip stick tube. Dealer put a new one when I got the recall work done as the original one was corroded. Will check with dealer tomorrow so they can deal with this.. |

This is a long shot but I'm having a go... Are you related or know the geezer who wanted to move his dipstick tube so that his header didn't clash?
