Considering how much confetti there was in your "event", it's worth giving the turbo a look-see to be 100% sure it didn't try to ingest anything. |

Some cars do. My old mazdaspeed miata had one between the head and the turbo iirc. Early (u.s. model) wrxs had them in the uppipe as well.

I think the clutch pictures are a bit telling, some amount of torture occured before this motor blew, wasnt just an easy drive home from the dealer and suddenly motor went bang with just mild driving - NO SIR
