Thanks, and yeah ... no high-tech two-tone for me. My Hachi-roku/4AGE valve cover keychain will have to suffice as tribute, lol.

I was going to do my first oil change at 2,000 miles, but I am heading up to Massachusetts on a long road trip this Thursday. Considering that will be over 1,600 miles round trip, I thought I would get this in before I left.
Tools needed: -14mm, and 17mm(for the Fumoto) wrenches -Rags for cleaning filter cup, checking dipstick, etc. -Pumpkin Ale of choice 1,524 miles on the ODO... Products I used: -5.5L of Motul 8100 Eco-lite 0W20 -Mobil 1 M1-104 Oil Filter -Fumoto F108S Oil Drain Valve The oil change itself was the easiest I've ever performed on a car. Having that filter up top is just awesome. Filter came off with two bare hands, so I had it easier than some owners have been reporting. The original crush washer was bent well out of round (looked like an egg shape), and was into the OEM drain plug so hard I had to use a flat-head screwdriver to get it off. Odd. The Fumoto valve is a solid piece, and the 'S' version nipple is high enough where I am not worried about it scraping. The valve takes a good amount of effort to open up so it doesn't seem like it would accidentally open while driving. Happy preventive maintenance! :happy0180:

For some reason the Toyota emblems just look so right to me. Would like to see the Toyota steering wheel cover....
Go get yourself a Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin ale. So awesome. - Andrew |

You have excellent taste in beer, Sir! :happy0180: That's my second favorite pumpkin ale, not far behind Southern Tier Pumpking.

I've tried Wolaver's Pumpkin, but not the oatmeal stout. My favorite oatmeal stout would have to be Samuel Smith's. I'll keep an eye out for the Wolaver's. :happy0180:

Haven't been around the boards for a long ass time. Nothing to really report on the car until now.
On June 24th I was driving down I-40 West with my girl to visit Asheville, NC. On cruise-control at 70mph in the right lane, I noticed an 18-wheeler pulling up next to me in the left lane. No big deal, right? We crest the hill, and he starts to fade back to what I assume was an attempt to just get back behind me in the right lane. In any case, he fades back, and comes over too soon, clipping the driver-side rear corner. Going into a skid at 70mph on the highway is never preferable, but I actually thought I was going to pull it back...until the semi hit me again. This time I got spun 180 degrees around and the driver side of my car slammed into the driver side of the semi that hit me. At this point I'm pretty much hooked on to the semi and being dragged backwards as he's in a full skid trying to stop. Eventually the skid slows enough to where my car, with me attempting to turn away from the truck, detaches and spins back around 180 degrees and across the front of the semi. I'm on three good wheels at this point and make it off the highway into the location in my first photo. But wait! There's more. As the semi skids past me, his trailer must have been mildly jack-knifing or something because I get popped one last time and the side curtain airbags blow. Through all of this, my girlfriend suffered zero injuries, and all I had were abrasions to one knuckle and my left bicep due to the airbags popping. Not once did the car ever feel like flipping. The seats held us firmly in place and the both of us have suffered no lingering effects like back pains or whiplash. The cabin, minus the airbags, was nearly spotless. My FR-S definitely lost the fight, but it saved our ass. The happy ending to all this? Their insurance took good care of me and I just drove a 2014 Asphalt Monogram into my driveway yesterday. I will most definitely be creating a new thread for that one. RIP EIGHTSIX 08/10/12 - 06/24/14
