What time? I may swing by. I'll be in a black MR2 Spyder. Very interested in checking your set up!

You should know that this setup is not strictly CARB legal. CARB also cares about induction, so the intake side of this setup will not pass inspection as-is.

Like you said, you can always remove it manually if you need to get it inspected.

Looks kind of worrisome having the turbo that low to the ground... Even with the filter...

Yes I know, we all know, everyone knows, does that mean we just sit around and read forums about what other guys do in other states and be jealous? No we do the best we can and have fun doing it. Carb approval may be on the way so maybe just maybe we can have some more fun. I just ordered a Supercharger for the new build and yes it won't pass either but I'll have lots of fun and engineering time and maybe someone in another state might go wow I can do that and not have to worry about CARB.

Yes, no intercooler, the passive run from the back to the front in the aluminum tube cools it down pretty good. At 4 lbs we are not making too much compressor heat.

Actually the turbo is where the muffler was so it's not that low. Speed bumps don't even come close. The exhaust pipe is the closes to the ground and it's about an inch higher than the TRD exhaust system, they're system is what I'd worry about, it's really low. There's a splash shield coming but in California I'm not to worried at the moment.

If there isn't a supercharger kit that comes out that i like more in the next year or so i'm probably going to get the STS universal kit and go that route. The sound is amazing in their videos i'd love to hear this thing in action.

Just remember the STS kit needs a lot of extras and has an oil cooled turbo which means running oil lines.

just wondering, wouldnt it be an option for cali guys to simply get the car plated out of state? i know of people over here that plate their cars in a different province because its that much cheaper.. they just get a mailbox.. most students use mailboxes for adresses... you wouldnt need to get inspection either...
