I might be interested in these as well. I wonder if there would be an option to order different spring rates for front and back instead of square set up. And if would be beneficial on this platform. Created a account today on your website, couldn't figure out how to sign up for news letter but would keep eye on here.

When these eventually happen, there will be Swift spring rate options with an upcharge. Keeping retail price down means a single primary spring kit made in high volume. The primary spring kit will not be Swifts. Xidas do everything that everyone wants but simply cost too much, which is why we're considering Tecna for the 86. Do 80% of what Xidas will do for 50% the price and a 5 year warranty.

We're deep in development for ND Tecna and several new wheels so 86 Tecna are down the road a bit.

Are you also verifying compatibility with the second gen Twins? Seems a bit of a waste to develop a semi-premium suspension option just for the first gen cars, especially when the differences are pretty mild (AFAIK the motion ratio in the rear and the stiffer chassis).

The kit will be available in G1 and G2 versions. Same shock, different brackets for ABS and brake lines, different spring rates. But development is paused for the time being. Probably not until mid 2025. Just six of us here and we have a bunch of other projects in the works.

Are you still planning to have both a Touring and a Sport variant? The Touring version sounds appealing. I'm not looking for much drop though because of horrible roads...will the Touring be closer to OEM ride height than Sport?

Can different spring rates be an option? If so would it be only with swifts? I would very much like to try approximately 25% stiffer springs in rear than front.

We'll probably offer two versions. GT and Sport. Custom rates available but they'll add significant cost. Standard springs are from Taiwan and included in kit. Optional rate are Swifts and would be offered ala carte. The point of Tecnas is maximum affordability. That's why everyone is excited. Xida exists now but are priced out of most peoples budget. Offering standardized GT and Sport kits allows us to knock a few hundred off the kit price.

We know folks like to experiment with rates but we really encourage them to trust our tuning expertise and use our complete set up first. Using tuning decisions based on other coilovers that don't work as well would potentially leave you with a less than optimized Xida or Tecna set up.

Thank you, not questioning your expertise, just learning by asking questions.

I want my set up best for learning not the fastest time, my wants might be different than others. I want to keep running thin low grip tires like 225 SX2 as I have now or something like 225 RS4 in future. I am not getting aero either, I have got GR86 sway bar for my BRZ otherwise rest would be stock. Something like 5K as you suggested GTs might have would probably be good enough for me. I am just learning about wheel rate etc and wondered why the set up is square. I understand more things (camber, sway bar etc) play in to this equations than I understand.

Either way, thank you for replying here and GR86 forum
