Could custom fit a piece of split tube water pipe insulation on the wing window next to the mirror.
Looks to accomplish the same thing.

Get 1 is no problem with the windows down. I do still wish that HPDE allowed windows up and AC on.

Just putting only the passenger window up an inch or two can make a huge difference in other cars, and you may be able to get away with it. Some cars have windows that just don't go all the way down.

I drove briefly on the highway with the windows down at 75+mph in my 2nd Gen recently.

It wasn't quiet, that's for sure. It's possible that over a period of time the noise would start to wear on my nerves, but it wasn't particularly loud as much as it simply blocked out all the other sound. I was listening to the radio and didn't want to stop doing that, so the windows went back up.

I probably could've cranked the stereo up and been able to hear the music (more or less) but I've done enough damage to my hearing already and no longer try to solve problems with volume knobs.

waiting for mature engine swap kit.

it's not really that big of a change, it looks like the 3rd gen might be a completely different car being a hybrid, maybe by then? but I'm still gonna keep the 1st gen.

Hmm, let's see....

According to Carvana, my 2013 FRS with 2 repaired accidents and 230,000 miles is worth $700. (KBB says private sale, I might get $5K, but we'll stick with Carvana for now).

In my area, a cubic yard of fill dirt, which weighs more or less the same as the FRS is $50.

Therefore, my car is worth at least 14x dirt, lb for lb.

Mine is paid off for over 3 years, has 102k miles, I get 33 mpg, it’s my daily, maintenance is cheap and this thing will go 250k. Paid 27k in 2016 at a low interest rate, absolute deal. Best smiles per mile.

You guys can go and pay over MSRP and higher interest rates for a very similar car and less mpg, RTV issues, etc.

Next year when the auto industry implodes, you will see how you overpaid.

Boom, bust cycles suck if you buy at the wrong time.

Buying cars to make money is a mug’s game. It’s a consumable item like furniture, electrical goods or anything else. I don’t sit around worrying how much my TV is worth now since I bought it.

In saying that, they’ll never be worth nothing though.

On a daily basis, I worry about how much your TV is worth since you bought it. Nobody else's TV. Just yours.

You mean your TV is not one of those collectible TV's that will be super high demand in 15 years because its so special and one of a kind?

I'd like to think MY TV is like that....

It *might* go 250k. Might not...

Very similar car, yes. Less mpg, also true. RTV issues, yeah but the 1st gen had this as well, friend o mine had his engine expire at ~76k miles, opened it up and found the pickup tube clogged with the stuff...

For me, going from '17 PP to a '23, the biggest differences are mpg (-10%), no CD-player , and the new car is a TON faster at the track (130mph at Watkins Glen vs. 120mph in the old car). Oh yeah, and dinky brakes with sliding calipers, not really a big deal but the Brembos looked *sweeet* and pad changes were easier.

I reckon my original Sony Bravia was, the glass surround was pretty cool. Miss that TV.

I'm about 12 to 14 months from hitting that level (at 227,000 now), I guess I'll see soonish.
