GR86/BRZ Diff Mounts
Hi,
Does anyone know if the previous gen Whiteline diff mount insert, ie KDT925 fits the new gen GR86/BRZ? or has test fitted or is currently running them pls? https://www.whiteline.com.au/product..._number=KDT925 GR86/BRZ probably havent reached Australia proper yet so Whiteline has yet to update in their website whether or not it fits. So if i look into the stock diff mounts themselves ie: Diff rear mount left toyota SU003-01008, subaru 41322CA000 Diff rear mount right toyota SU003-01009, subaru 41322CA010 Diff stopper upper toyota SU003-01010 Diff stopper lower toyota SU003-06424 Cross-referencing with online parts manual for toyota and subaru show all fit new and previous gen EXCEPT this: Diff rear mount right toyota SU003-01009, subaru 41322CA010 which both toyota and subaru show does not fit new gen, and yet i cannot find the corresponding p/n for the new gen. not sure if there is an error in the parts list or that particular bushing really is different. if it is the latter, i wonder if the KDT925 fits. Looking at Cusco (https://www.rhdjapan.com/cusco-rear-...-gr86-zn8.html), they report that their diff insert works for previous and new gen. while Revolution (https://www.rhdjapan.com/revolution-...-gr86-zn8.html) has a special p/n for the new gen only. Can anyone help me? KDT925 is such value for money compared to the above. and i am so close to pulling the trigger. just wanted some confirmation/reassurance. Meanwhile, the obligatory photo of my car (RHD GR86 japan-only RC version, imported from Japan) which i just collected yesterday! The RC (or "Really Cheap") version has just 2 speakers, no Engine Sound Speaker, Steelies, no head unit, less under carpet insulation, no cruise control, fake leather everything and cloth seats, or in other words... PERFECT! |

@O Haiii the diff mounts are part of the Whiteline "positive traction kit", which along with the "positive shift kit" tightens up the car significantly. In my case, fixed a lot of drivetrain lash as my 2013/first-gen turned sloppy after 100,000 miles, made shifts a lot better and reduced wheel-hop.

Thanks!
Are you by any chance also running KDT922 ie the whiteline rear subframe inserts? Looking to do that. And again wondering if they fit (again not much info by way of part numbers for these subframe mounts, so cant cross reference with previous gen and whiteline has yet to verify fitment). For the whiteline KDT925 ie diff mount inserts. I see some guys omit mounting the lower insert for the front outrigger diff mounts. I suppose you run them all? And if so, hows the NVH over stock? I just bought the KDT925 and while waiting for them to arrive, am wondering whether to omit or mount the front outrigger diiff mount inserts. |

I am indeed. I did the KDT925 install first (omitting the outrigger bushings because of the diff whine I experienced on my first gen) and then the KDT922 install. Both fit perfectly. There's a bit of noise with both kits installed, but any catback covers up the noise.

Bumping this thread. This is on my GR86.
I have a very interesting (slightly irritating) finding. The top inserts (for diff front mount, ie see pic below) of the KDT925 does NOT fit the stock bushing. Somehow the OD of the stock bushing is smaller than the ID of the concave side of the top inserts. iirc these top inserts supposed to be fitting tightly to the stock bushings and at times irritating to install cos they "pop out" while raising the diff and tightening up the bolts. Instead they are really loose with these gr86 stock bushings. The bottom inserts and the diff rear bushing inserts all work perfectly. But i guess the good thing is, with all the inserts (sans the aforementioned front mount top insert) mounted, there is ZERO NVH increase! And (maybe placebo but whatever) car feels more responsive esp with hard tip in of gas pedal in2nd and 3rd gear). |

Good to know the upper front outrigger bushings don't work on the new car!
