All good, I misunderstood. the vsc in track mode is probably still activating causing a bit more heat than usual in the brakes. The crazing doesn't look bad. Pad material seems to be glazing the disc a little bit from the excess heat though, I'm not entirely sure without seeing the pads.

dsc_pat makes a good point too, if you're getting into abs a lot.

I don’t think I used the full capacity of the brake. I think it is the repeated medium braking instead of multiple hard braking. |

Normal from heating and cooling cycles. When they get to the edge or you can catch your fingernail on them, time to replace. You should see the pictures @CSG Mike has posted of ones he has used

So now you know your brakes are normal for what you`re doing and probably don`t need replacing yet. Get a driver mod (Best bang for buck)

Step up to a higher capacity pad, and also, make sure you're not using ABS. I've seen many folks who swear up and down they're not using ABS, and then when we (finally) look at the data, they're basically standing on ABS every braking zone. |

If you have an ABS light, your ABS system has faulted or failed, and you will get lockup. |

Lol, My phones news feed directed me to the same thread with the same pictures on the gr86 forums.
Similar result, without the ABS talk, or csgmikes insight!

Another thing to keep in mind: the car actually measures how quickly you go from the throttle to the brake, and how quickly you press the brake down.
Quick/aggressive/panicked transition to brakes, especially with quick application of the brakes amplifies the response of the braking system. The idea is that if you're driving and suddenly need to hit the brakes to avoid an accident the car will apply the brakes harder/faster that way. The result is you go right to ABS levels of braking. I had a situation where I was alongside a car at 75mph on the highway approaching construction. Traffic in her lane was stopped, mine was open, and we reached the point where it became apparent she wasn't paying any attention at all. I braked "moderately" and shifted to the left shoulder to give her room to escape the impact via the left lane and the car basically stood on its nose to stop. (She never touched the brakes or noticed the car she slammed into.) The aggro braking system pulled us up about 10-15 feet short of the debris field. But on a race track you're going to want the ABS turned off. |

How cheap are GR86 rotors? In my experience cryo-treated rotors are usually a good bit more expensive. In many cases it's just cheaper to toss your rotors and replace.
