You just gotta know that someplace in Toyota there is a guy reading this thread going "SHITSHITSHITSHITSHIT Bob come see this we done screwed up". Of course it would be in Japanese and the guy is not likely named Bob but you can rest assured somebody in Marketing is reading this.
Probably one of the guys saying "ahhhhh come on guys I like it".

They are franticly trying to come up with a new tag line. Since GM had "this is not your daddy's Buick" Toyota may try "this is not your fanboy's 86"

I have a drop in filter and must say the improvement is quite noticeable. I'm guessing it's a slight torque increase at the low end that I'm really feeling. Either way - at least for AT I think this is a Good Thing.

+++++
  • HP Bump
  • Changed tails (not much better though)
  • Headlights
  • Wheels
  • New lines added to rear valence

--------
  • Front Bumper
  • Changed lines in rear bumper
  • Fender badge. Why?
  • Front Bumper
  • Steering wheel buttons (I like the wheel itself though)
  • Front Bumper
  • Silver stitching (black would have been fine)

I can't think of more than 2-3 cars where I liked the pre-facelift better. I think the 2017 looks awful as of these renderings but I think we'll be pleasantly surprised when we see it in person. I hope.

Done! added to my OP, I think it will look better than most think. I still think it looks great.

That's why it has to be seen in person, this is a different perspective and i think the Toyota rendering artists do something to make it look skewed or out of dimension.
