People can so do whatever they want to their cars.
We are also free to criticize and maybe ridicule them if pictures are posted. Actually, maybe that isn't accurate. I'll definitely say my piece at least if owner of car asks for opinion. |

Salespeople must hang their heads when this crap shows up in their inventory.
Or, they do it for the challenge, or as a contest with each other. |

Rice
Pre 90s term definition: "Rice burner is a pejorative, used as early as the 1960s, originally describing Japanese motorcycles, then later applied to Japanese cars, and eventually to Asian-made motorcycles and automobiles in general. The term most often refers to vehicles manufactured in East Asia, where rice is a staple food." By this we are all Ricers. Post 90s term definition: A person who makes unnecessary modifications to their most often import car (hence the term "rice") to make it (mostly make it look) faster. The most common modifications are (but not limited to): - Huge exhaust that serves no purpose but to make the car louder - Large spoiler on the back that looks like something Boeing made for the 747 - Lots of after-market company stickers they don't have parts from, but must be cool - Expensive rims that usually cost more than the car itself - Bodykit to make the car appear lower, usually accented with chicken wire - Clear tail lights and corner signals - A "performance intake"- a tube that feeds cold air to their engine usually located in areas of excessive heat (behind or on top of the engine) - Most of these riced cars (a.k.a. rice rockets or rice burners) are imports The "ricer" attempts to make their car "performance" by adding the modifications listed above. These ricers are not confined to any one ethnic group or color, however different ethnic groups are known for certain styles. By this most on here are at least some what rice. Loud mostly useless exhaust with big tips. Useless spoiler (even if not huge) Intake that just makes a cool noise and little else Tinted windows in Canada where they serve a practical purpose about 4 days a year Lowered for no good reason other than looks Eventually will have fancy new rims for appearance only I AM THE VERY DEFINITION OF RICER!!!!!!

It's funny because Scion and Subaru already have these ricer mods stock.

If you did those modifications to, say, a Hyundai Excel from the 80's you'd be closer to a ricer.
Or if you bought a TC and swapped on the taillights and fender vents from an FR-S and had a pile of "RWD Power" stickers applied to every side of the car. -Justin |

Better question is....
When does plasti-dip go right? Unless you make 221.3whp you prob should just leave your car alone. That includes white twins with 'dipped roofs...just saying. 🚨💥💥🔫🚨shots fired. |
