Car back from bodyshop..FM radio not working?

So, after having a fender and a door replaced I picked up the car today and all looked good.

Until I turned on the radio for the drive home. The FM radio sounds like shit. Its like every FM station is just off frequency a bit with a lot of static and crakle.

AM radio seems to work fine.

Any chance this might be related to a battery being disconnected while the car was worked on? Is there a reset process that I need to perform?

Can't imagine a reason why but could they have unhooked the antenna? Wouldn't effect the AM as much as the FM because they both use totally different signals types.

Did they throw it through the wash at the end?

Sometimes it loosens the antenna a bit. I had a similar problem. Try removing and reattaching the antenna and see if that helps.

Fixed.

Since the battery had been disconnected, the system reset to default. Had to be told that it was not speaking to a Scion TC.

Surprisingly enough a lot of people put it on that setting on purpose!
Glad too hear that is all it was though. Your description of the symptoms made it sound like a bigger issue.

I am not understanding what you did to fix the issue, could you explain it a little better? I am having a similar issue with my car.

There is a button on the radio (i'd have to look at one to figure out which one) if you hold it down it goes into a different menu. Since the same radio is available in other scions, you can select which car your unit is in. It configures the sound differently, although I'm surprised this would effect static in any way.

Little thing that came with the car called "an owners manual" that tells you all you need to know about setting it! Mind you the search feature in the book sucks but it is there.

Sorry that was supposed to be done in a joking tone but looks more like sarcasm when written!

Thanks @Sigh-on-Rice for the help! Hopefully this fixes the problem with my radio. I have been looking for a few days to see if I could find anything related to what's going on with my radio, but I haven't had any luck.
