  • Approximate highway gas mileage is the same. I'm running wide tires for street, and with winter blend fuel I'm averaging around 28-29MPG.
  • City mileage seems to be slightly worse. Not really attributing this to anything other than perhaps a bit more liberal with gas pedal on streets, but my driving style hasn't changed much. Should be noted that the decrease in fuel economy includes the ~60 miles worth of dyno pulls that was done testing both the Crawford pieces, as well as 3 different Ark Design exhaust systems for MotoIQ.
  • 5 tanks prior to install of CPB: 1111 miles, 1 track day @ Big Willow, 24.35MPG
  • 5 tanks after install of CPB: 865 miles, 1 track day @ Chuckwalla Valley Raceway, 23.46MPG
  • Car definitely feels faster on streets. Throttle response 3500-5000 and above 6000 is great, with no difference in exhaust note or engine noise. My engine currently is stock with no mods.

Hope this is enough data to help.

So far it seems that with a stock ECU, there's zero change in gas mileage consumption.
Been on a ~2000-mile road trip over the past few days. Under steady-state cruising, I've been averaging 30.5MPG with my 245/255 street tires. With a stock wheel/tire setup, I'd probably end up close to stock as far as gas consumption is concerned.

Really have to say, these power blocks are really great for any aggressive canyon or windy road driving. It makes the car much more livelier out of corners.

Interesting - there are other materials, that could be used that is resistant to nasty stuff life fuel/heat.

What is the fascination with fuel economy on such simple things, wouldnt you just leave it stock if that was the biggest thing with a mod like this?

I'm mostly providing some info for others as reference. Most of the time, a power mod that increases horsepower would have a negative effect elsewhere (such as power, emissions, or something else).

So far, there's no change in the fuel consumption of the car with these power blocks. That's what I'm trying to share, since I keep track of every tank of gas on my car.

Being that my car is on motor # 3 I will add these along with oft and header. I don't want any mod that relies on rpms for power.

Ist one blew rockers off. Second one was assembled by orangutans with rubes of Rtv. Got it every where including oil passages. Blew rod bearing. Now have complete new motor from factory. Hand assembled. Poor toyota has put almost more than price of car into warranty repairs.

That's cool that Toyota has stood behind their major fu$k ups!
I can't believe it when I hear stuff like this. Like wtf, build the car right the first time.

My question to you good sir, did you have mods done to the car when you blew engine #1 and #2?

#2 sounds like a rebuild to save money on an engine swap. Once you let an unknown tech open up your block all bets are off. The Toyota FIPG is waaay more capable than RTV and is amazing if used properly, but bad if not. Anyone who proposes using RTV on your engine should be kept far away.

Umm, I think the Toyota FIPG IS an RTV silicone, if I'm not mistaken.

Just looks like standard RTV but it isn't. It could be classified as a type of RTV silicone but it's far more advanced than what a typical yahoo might call RTV. Just make sure you know the differences before you use it.

So I wonder what exactly the difference is? Toyota Global website calls it RTV.
