I have the bluetooth one right now on my nexus7, and there is no pausing. Pretty responsive. I was going to go the nexus7 route, but i really like knobs and buttons for certain features, plus i was hoping the usb connection would be even faster. This sounds like overall its slower and more glitchy. I also have the replacement leds for this so i can change the color to red/orange instead of the green. If i dont use them i can send them your way should you want them.

Now im not sure what to do, maybe just cancel this and stick with the nexus 7.
I have a aem failsafe for boost and afr, so thats good and fast. I just wanted the torque for oil pressure oil temp, etc...so maybe this would still work.

For slow-moving numbers, it should be fine. If you do cancel the order, I'll be happy to take those LEDs off your hands. I was planning to swap them eventually anyway.

So are you saying the tach is worthless, same as mph? I really mostly wanted it for coolant temp, oil temp, oil pressure, so it should work fine for that correct? Are those working ok for you?

Yeah, I'd use the the stock gauges for those things anyway. With Torque and the USB ELM327 on this unit, when it's working, it's fine. It'll work for a few minutes then maybe pause for 3 seconds or so, then resume. For temperature stuff, it's fine. Everything else.....

Also, Torque isn't able to measure anything accelerometer-related. I haven't figured this one out yet.

hmm.thats not sounding too positive. In Torque i am able tuse the acceleraomter on the nexus 7 and it works fine, can read 0-60, 1/4 mile, etc...

Maybe this is just not the right head unit for me.

I have a feeling there's no accelerometers in the unit, since it's not meant to be rotated in portrait/landscape positions. I'll have to look into it some more.

I can confirm, these units don't have accelerometer

Yeah, I would love it if we could figure out a way to let the unit use the accelerometer from the phone as if it was it's own, maybe through a tethering app or exposed module, it should be possible in some way...

I found this unit, http://www.tradesolution.hk/e/ptxweb...duct/1193.html

It runs the new android firmware, not sure of LED colors but from previous experience when they aren't lit up in the picture they're normally orange, a simple email to the company would answer that question, also it says it supports OBD, (the have an optional obd dongle for 45$) not sure if any dongle can be used with it or only the one they sell?

@nzer @coyote @Trap63 this might be of interest to you guys

Good find and very interesting. Could be the perfect solution.

I won't be trying it as have mine all sorted and very happy with it running carscope with my HKS OB-LINK.

It needs so other brave soul to be the first person to try one.

I have yet to pull the trigger on a unit as I decided to wait through the winter months to see if something new and improved came out since my car is parked anyways.. Sure enough the T7019A has new brains , I will probably email tradesolution shortly to ask if they can send me a picture of the "obd dongle" and what color the led's are, and if our own dongles can be used instead, the only downfall to this one being that it only has 512mb of ram and the possibility that it will only worth the supplied obd dongle. I'm not sure if 4.0+ requires more to run smoothly as compared to 2.3?

Edit: Sent them an email, curious to see if they will send me a picture of the dongle.

that's fine. The only issue might be low ram, but OS 4.0 will run faster so a memory refresh could be attractive rather than to get onboard more memory but not speeder.
About dongle...ask for Torque Pro compliance, if positive maybe a good bargain this one!
T7019A Specs:
Main CPU:MST786 A9 dual core 1Ghz
RAM Memory DR3 1G
iNand Memory:8GB

IMHO the 7019A is a best buy.
