I know this sounds weird but does your cigarette lighter work? The obd2 port and lighter are usually on the same fuse. If that fuse blows from too much load on the lighter it will cause your obd2 port not to have power and there will be no communication.

It has power. I checked all my fuses with a multi meter to be sure and all good.

i bricked my pcm.... not using ecutec, but i digress...

tried resetting ecu, removing battery cables, connected with toyota techstream n tried to reflash back to stock rom, sadly once you brick it, its got to be reformatted and reflashed. the toyota software cant make any connection to the ecu, and just basically "doesnt see it". all other systems in the vehicle work fine... other than no start/no go...

in my case, toyota is replacing ecu which they say "is on backorder from suby japan"... yeah i been in a rental for a month to the day...

Yeah, hoping that worst case and not something i look forward to. Seems crazy that there wouldnt be a way to reset/reflash the ecu with software. As i said before, really hoping @EcuTek can chime in. Or possibly a master tuner.

I reached out to paul @AVOturboworld and hoping he might have some insight, as i purchased my turbo kit and my ecutek license, dongle and cable from him.

Figures it happens on a damn friday night...ugh.

I recovered my Bricked ECU with ECUflash software,

It wouldn't recognize with anything at the time of the bricking either.

Do you have a tactrix OP2.0 cable or access to one?

Yes, he (@visconti) has actually reached out to me, how is that for support!
And @whitefrs jumped on remotely and checked it out, seeing the same issues i had.
And Toni at @FA20club has been chatting with me via email.
And Paul at @AVOturboworld has also said he has some ideas and is reaching out to Ecutek to see about unbricking my ECU. So hopefully can get this thing up and running soon! i have a feeling alot will just depend on @EcuTek and how and when they can get to it. Really hoping i wont have to purchase a new ecu....

Great that we have a community that rallys like this....

i am going to need to send beers and pizza out to some folks...

I'm going to keep this in mind, a tactrix cable sure as shit is cheaper and easier than a new ecu.

I am thinking and hoping that with all the number of people and tuners on here that flash ecus, this has happened before, and there has to be a way to reset the ecu.....

thanks for the help though.
Have you checked to odb-2 socket under the dash carefully check that one or more of the pins have not been pushed back into the socket . Its possible the power pins are ok but one of the data pins is crook. might have to remove mounts and check from rear of obd socket.

It does sound like a hung ecu but worth a check in case the dud pin caused the flash fail .
