Chinese Ca-Fi knockoff has been rooted! Torque works!

Some things I would like to address, not sure how much I'll be able to do:

• Include Google Map API by default [done]
• Radio - Image resources - swap Red/Blue channels to get red backgrounds [done]
• Radio - Text resources - change colour to suit
• Launcher - Image resources - remove default wallpapers (reduce size), replace with FT86 appropriate defaults (customize).
• Launcher - Change default layout (cleaner)
• Logos - Remove existing logos that aren't FT86 applicable (reduce size).
• Logos - Add FT86 logos (customize) [done]
• Install Google Car Home
• Hack up a fix for the cache size problem so Cache Fixer isn't needed anymore
• Media player - Fix up Chinglish warning image
• General settings - Fix up Chinglish settings text
• Bootanimation - Default to grey car
• DVD splashscreen - Replace with something a little nicer (haven't been able to locate this yet)
• Possibly add a file explorer by default - one less thing to install after upgrade, allowing easier installation of user .apk files from USB/MicroSD out of box

couple gripes:

i had previously closed my "stock app" by holding the back button for 3 seconds. This prevented it from booting up and loading the stock app anymore, which was perfect for me. Now all of the sudden, this also makes it mute my sound and will not unmute. I cant listen to music in poweramp or mx player videos or anything unless i reopen the stock music app or ipod or whatever other stock app i can use. If i try closing it, the same problem happens where the whole unit becomes muted. Very frustrating.

The stock music app also sorts my music in z-a or 9-0 order rather than the normal way. I have yet to find a solution for this.


All i want with this unit now is a much shorter boot time, a way to get my reverse camera working and to have my most recent app boot on startup (excluding stock apps)

Why is this so hard?

Are you saying my new system.img made it perform differently - or that the existing firmware is suddenly behaving differently?

Just a random thought -things may act differently depending on which stock app you shut down with the 3-second Back trick.

about muting, do you try to re-assign panel keys function?

I bought several apps in googleplay, may be useful for you to integrate? i.g. Torque Pro and widgets (knock sensor, racing meters), SU explorer, USB dongle, Office Pro, wifi connection...? I can save and store in dropbox for you.

My phone contacts are sorted numerically by their phone numbers, rather than alphabetically by their names.

Anyone else have this issue? It's the same on my Nexus4 and SGS4.

As far as a rom goes, I'd like it to be as light as possible. Logos and wallpapers are something I think people can add themselves if they think they need them.

And Navigon Australia is rubbish. Used it before on my SGS2, but it actually seems to have gone backwards since then.

No problem @nzer. Toyota have already run all the important cables for their OEM camera, for handbrake, and reversing switch. Just need to run one from the head unit to the boot lid which is easy.

I tried playing with the buttons in extra settings but I guess I dont know what I'm doing cause nothing I press has any response

go in settings (not extra), press START (lower corner left), it comes grey, then choose i.g. "mute" and press (not turn) volume button. Your check "Mute" will vary to "set+" or other and START comes black on yellow background. Repeat for each action/button. I discover this procedure on manual after trying several times...

Attempting to open a RMA to send my unit back. The usb seems to just not work at all on this unit ... @2forme do we have any other rom I can try just incase its having issues with that for whatever reason? Stock or another rooted version?

Warn....not all usb hubs operate correctly. Did you try standalone and/or other usb key to verify usb port?

Same thing plugged straight in without a usb hub. Front and rear port. @nzer is amazing and sent me a bluetooth dongle that he tested and had working and it won't work on mine at all. It just keeps freezing my head unit everytime I turn on bluetooth and I need to reboot it.

damn! if you reflash with other ROM you loose warranty....be careful before claiming for a RMA.
