Mine came properly filled, but I checked it anyway, per the documentation.

Is Vortech or and other vendor supplying this kit to Australia??
I've been talking to Perrin and they say they're no longer shipping the kit overseas due to high shipping costs and breakages.
Personally I'm willing to pay pretty much whatever it takes to get the kit here..

So yours was exactly in the middle of the hash pattern as well? How much oil came out? Was it only during the first run, or did it come out gradually over time?

I'd think Vortech themselves should have no problem doing that, did you reach out to them?

Also, since you're in Australia, have you considered the Bullet/Sprintex kit?

No level was right at top of hash per Vortech instructions. (pdf) It came out after a week of driving. Around vent plug and on top of SC.

I had oil burp out as well. I called Vortech and they informed the oil level needs to be in the middle of the hash grid. if its full, it'll burp out and you'll get that nice oil on your engine smell.

not to mention its a bitch cleaning it up.

Kinda has me worried, would it be a bad idea to put something around the vent pipe to catch some of it for the first day or two?

theres no need

just drain it to where the oil level is in the middle of the hash marks and you'll be good to go

So I have a question about the kit.

Besides the kit, what else is necessary to make this a reliable setup? I guess a oil cooler? What else? Do i really need a catch-can? Do i need fuel pumps and any other stuff?

I plan to DD this.

Thanks

Nothing. No. Nothing. No. No. Buy the Vortech kit straight from Vortech, run their soon to be CARB approved kit and enjoy life.

Just my opinion and my approach, but i purchased a bigger radiator and an oil cooler to go with the SC. Personally prefer doing everything at once during the install and not have to remove the bumper multiple times which is prone to misalign after. Also, if you ever goto track, your oil temp is within safe range (stock car's oil temp runs very hot already under extended load).
