Your oil temp will be over 240F in under 60 seconds, if your car is warmed up.
Yeah I can second the need for an oil cooler. Even on just the streets I used to get 260F and thats not even going all out (as its on the street so I have to be safe and respect the law)

Did about 2600 miles round trip from Chicago to Tampa, hitting Deals Gap both going and coming.
Max time spent driving each leg was about 11.5 hours and I wasn't really close to getting fatigued. These seats are quite excellent, at least for my body.

Great story, great experience. Definitely carry chains through the mountains! Glad you didn't turn into a popsicle.

Great story!

Touch up paint (small pen size w/brush type) will work fine as long as the surface is clean enough to take the paint, otherwise it'll chip and rub off eventually...

I had previous experience in driving snow (2 winters with brz on snow tires), so I had no issues driving and I had chains too.
Well I be damned, really should've posted this before I took off

One of the first things I did in the car was take it up and down the blue ridge parkway for a week. We managed to fit camping gear in it just fine. Stayed at a hotel every few days. Took the wife to Inn At Little Washington. She can never complain about the price of anything again.

edit: if i start to feel fatigued, I turn on the seat warmer for a bit. relaxes my back in some strange way.

hey, the winter holidays are coming and we thought with my wife to go on a road trip to NY. We live further and we have a long way to go, those who are there or those who were there in the winter, what do you say, is it worth it?
