I get the front end up and jack stand set, open the Fumoto valve, then go back to the jack and slowly lower it to just over the top of the drain pan, which makes the car close to level. Then back up again to close the valve and back down to fill. Reading this thread made me realize I've been making a lot of unnecessary work for myself.

If all I'm doing is oil change, I just drive on my rhino ramps. 15 minute job. If I'm also rotating tires, I break out the Quickjack.

I used to do oil changes in a driveway and I would back in and drive the front onto these low cheap ramps from amazon, car would sit pretty level for draining. This made a super easy and simple way to drain the oil out.
I now have a flat garage and I still just drive the front on small ramps and use a jack to unscrew the oil plug and then lower it back on the ramps. Seems to work really well. I did let it sit for a while to let it drain as much as possible. It does drain while the front is slightly raised from the ramps. I would not let the car drain with just one end on jackstands, at that point use some cheap low profile ramps/or boards that are only 4-5 inches tall, get a better drain. That or get it on all 4 jackstands. |

Not with the twin, but this car. Not enough angle to matter. Ramps are easy and safe. Plus I think every car i have recently had on ramps, the drain plug was on that side. Extra drainage.
