I have added high quality soundclips of the Perrin UNRESONATED Cat-back exhaust alongside the resonated sound clips for comparison. These clips were recorded in the same conditions and on the same dyno as the original clips so they are a direct comparison. THE ONLY part of the car that has changed is the mid-pipe and nothing else!

You can find the clips HERE!

curses! I thought that hearing both resonated and unresonated back-to-back would help me make my decision.

Sony, which one do you prefer?

I actually like the sound of the un-resonated more...I was thinking about keeping it. However the more I listen to it...the more I realize it's too loud for me. As much as I like the sound, I would like to keep it quiet so I think the resonated pipe will be going back on soon. Plus later when I get the over pipe and catted front pipe I will want the resonated pipe anyways to keep the volume down as much as possible.

My opinion is if you don't care about loudness then go for un-resonated... If you want a quieter exhaust, keep it resonated, ether way it sounds great.

curious, looking at perrin's website, it appears that the overpipe provides the least gains...
does it make more sense to start off with the cat'd front pipe and catback without the over pipe?
I can see that the torque dip narrows a bit with the over pipe so i guess it's just a matter of how much cash you have to spare.

Or am I completely missing something here?

How much louder is the un-resonated in comparison to the resonated? maybe like on a volume scale of 10. 10 being a drag racing car. (doubt it's that loud lol)

If the resonated is a 4, the unresonated is a 6 or 7.

If anyone wants a non-resonated and buys a resonated I will trade you pipes and pay the difference. I bought the up and mid catless and it is now to loud. Pm me if interested.

If I think you are saying what I think you're saying, then mine hits. Easily fixed.

You're giving it too much. If stock is 1, resonated is 2-3, unresonated is 5, SRT is 7, and open tube drag race is 10. :-p

You have the small resonator right? Catted or no? I really wonder how the large resonator w/cat would compare to a Perrin headerback. I'm certain I could live with a resonated Perrin catback, but I really like the sound of the headerback, and I love the SRT sound, but I think it may be too loud for me.

I don't have a Perrin exhaust. I have a small resonated SRT. My buddy has been testing the Perrin exhaust and the resonated version is just too quiet for me. I need to hear the exhaust. If you go Perrin, go unresonated. The SRT, once broken in, isn't TOO loud. It does sound mean though.
