Oh don't worry, you'll land. Whether you get to try again or not is the issue.

I have no desire to own anything that flys. I have enough money pits as it is.

Congratulations @Dadhawk. First day of retirement. Welcome to the club. Enjoy retirement. I hope you get in lots of flying time, and whatever else you enjoy.

There was never a shortage of Trade-A-Planes and JC Whitneys in my childhood home.

edit: Hey, congrats! I'm looking forward to lots of fun road trips with Mrs. Ultra.

I would spend all my time practicing autorotation, managing tail rotor failure, & all kinds of shit. That guy straight-up panicked.

We don't see what caused him to smack the boom into the ground. However, we can clearly see the tail rotor parts flying across the screen. He should have killed the engine immediately to stop the rotation. Instead it was still driving the rotor blades even after coming to rest against the plane.

I remember when I handed my RM400 over to a friend who said he knew how to ride. As soon as the clutch started to grab, he panicked and dumped it. Held a death grip through a thick stand of bamboo and bounced off the back of my mom's car.

I remember when Danny across the street got a mini bike. His older sister wanted to try it. She hit the gas, kept it on full throttle across the yard, across the street, and smack into the steel streetlight pole in our front yard. It wasn't pretty.
