Thank goodness for this thread. I just installed MCA traction mod II, STi rear trailing arms, and Whiteline KDT922 bushings, and the car feels great!

Does anyone here that did the MCA Traction Mod V2 + STi trailing arms have a list of part numbers handy for any "while-you're-there" replacement hardware/nuts/bolts? Planning on doing these on a new-to-me 2013 FR-S and I'm guessing it could probably use some new hardware since it was a daily for most of its life being converted to a track car. Also, does anyone know if the STi trailing arms compatible with 2nd gen cars as well? Thanks in advanced!
Edit: Found some answers as far as part numbers, details below: SU00302819 F/bolt-PLT M12 x4 SU00305235 Self Lock Nut M12 x4 SU00300013 Bolt x2 (bolt that holds the bracket cable bracket) SU00300544 BRKT Cable Guard RH SU00300545 BRKT Cable Guard LH TQ Specs Subframe bolt 145 nm / 106 ft-lbs Trailing arm bolts 110nm / 81 ft-lbs 19mm MCA bolt 110nm / 81 ft-lbs Last edited by Kamber; 11-26-2024 at 07:32 PM. |

Me too - no guards (as per the install instructions from MCA), though I have thought about putting them back on and just bending them for more clearance...

I bought new ones and ended up removing them as I didn’t love how the cable was pressing against them. Waste of money in the end.

Anyone know if these help with winter traction? I have snow tires on, RCE T2 coils, rebound set to softest setting as well, and this shit is like it's on skates with no snow outside. Maybe having more squat in the rear will help

Sounds like a tire issue to me, I don't think any ant-squat geometry will help you if there is so little grip. What specific make/model snow tires?

Michelin X-ice Snow (not to be confused with X-ice xi3). They're rated better than the xi3 ... maybe not cold enough? Pavement was dry but it was dark so hard to see if maybe there was frozen dew or something

I’ve had mixed results with dedicated Winter/snow tires. Either they have great snow grip with poor wet/dry grip, or vice versa. Usually go with “Performance Winter” category as in Rhode Island winters are usually not huge amounts of snow.

What is your alignment like?
I tried out continental Icecontacts this year and they handle dry roads quite well. The Michelins shouldn't handle terrible |

Toe 0 front, 0.01 rear I mean I bought the michelins knowing I was gonna sacrifice some snow traction for dry weather handling resembling something sporty. Just wondering if any of that would be due to the car being on aftermarket suspension, and whether the traction mod would help
