Panhead screw would be the way to go, IMO. I have to run a front plate (will drill the plate so I can use threaded holes) but if I didn't, I'd used some touchup paint on some panheads and call it a day. Thread is 6mm x 1.0 if anybody is curious.

Yes, I understand that. The post I was responding to mentioned that the threaded inserts in the front need to be 'knocked out' in order to install the plugs, which would mean if you wanted to then run a tag in the future (or the next owner wants/needs to), you'd have to come up with another method for securing, as the inserts will no longer be available..

Here’s a couple of pics.
I threaded a license plate bolt a couple of turns into that exposed sleeve on the flat bumper area.
I then used my thumb to push in on the head of the bolt.
Doesn’t take huge force.
That metal bracket you see in the first pic dislodges from the backside of the bumper and falls straight down.
You can reach into the bottom of the grill and pull it out.
I then popped in the custom painted plugs I got from bumper plugs.com.
Took less than five minutes.
Granted, I live in a state that doesn’t require front plates.
The plugs ain’t cheap at 30.00 pair, but this huge eyesore is out of my head.

I would love to see pictures when you can post them.

Did you buy the plugs for the factory round holes or the small screw holes?

I had these on several Porsches' I've owned in the past, and they are very high quality and match perfectly.

Anyone happen to have a zoomed out before and after photo...

Up close the before and after just doesn't impress me. The factory screw holes and the plugs seem to equally draw my attention, but maybe when looking at the car as a whole the improvement is more obvious?

I think you came up with a very efficient solution.
Thank you very much for sharing!

Do you have the part # for these?

Thanks.

The part number I used is 58570-A. FYI, I did have to trim it down a little with a razor blade at its widest point. I also twisted it in using the internal threads. It’s worth it to me for only a $1.50.

We’re required to have front licence plates here, so I needn’t worry about plugs. Dodged a bullet there! 😀
