It's not, my seatbelt doesn't make any noise. It's definitely the left side bolster as I moved it with my hand and it made the same annoying ass squeak.

100%

If you can tackle something yourself without it costing much- do it. Save time and potential headaches of getting your car back worse than when you brought it in.

Good luck. Sometimes that’s from something stranger than a loose connection or bad camera. My Raptor did that, then started to glitch the radio screen. The truck spent weeks in & out of the dealership. The shop traced the cause to water ingress through the tail lights into much of the wiring harness.

Thanks. Same for my 2013.

i guess i shouldnt be surprised because it's a subaru but the paint on these cars is just so thin. hard to believe how many chips have shown up already with just 1300 miles on the car.

Immediate application of PPF seems to be a popular (if expensive) step for new owners..

I have 1000 miles on mine now, no chips yet (knocks on wood).

I’ve been pretty religious about leaving 4-5 car lengths in front of me on the highway, and not driving behind trucks as much as possible though.

I looked into PPF but the quotes were silly when I can get the bumper sprayed in 5 years for a quarter what they were asking.

I'm going to guess Florida driving has far fewer issues with rock chips than everyday driving in Washington, particularly this time of the year..

I've got chips and nicks already. part of owning and actually driving a car.

If it bugs me, I'll get the bumper sprayed in a few years. PPF just isnt worth it for a $30K car.

I drove my FRS through construction zones for the first 6 years I owned it. My bumper was a total POS.

Like others have said, if at some point it bugs me enough I'll just get it repainted.

it's not the thickness. you can thank the EPA for the eco-friendly paint they had to change to. the thickness is the same as it's always been. but the brittleness of the paint is now worse.

Welp, my left bolster squeak has now developed to the entire left side of the seat including the back now squeaking. It squeaks when I reach for the volume, when I start from a red light or do literally anything which needs me to move my body. It sounds like it's coming from the left side of the seat, where the back is connected to the bottom piece. Something has definitely gone loose, the seat also has a bit of play in it now.

Agree on the ppf. Just not worth it on a 30k car. The price quotes I can get a new bumper and paint it.
