My god thats nice. I'm going for a white GR86 so I'd love what you have but in their famous blue.

How much did you pick up your kit for? Is yours the four or six pot? I'm also confused how they do their brakes. So it's a universal caliper but the conversion bracket will vary from platform to platform, or are your calipers specific for the 86?

I'm up in Canada so i think it worked out to be roughtly $7500 CAD after shipping and duties/taxes. Endless was running a promo in the summer and offered free paint color change (no anodization sadly) however since anodization fades with heat i chose to go with paint since i can always get them repainted when they change color from heat. I went with 4pot/2pot because I run 17" winters which won't clear the bigger calipers

I would hope they are not universal calipers. By that logic are all aftermarket brake calipers universal with just custom brackets to fit a specific model? Brembo's gt line has caliper code names that are shared between different models from different makes as well, same as project mu. I would hope that there is some form of tweaking to make a caliper more suitable for a specific car. but who knows maybe all aftermarket bbk's are universal with just different sized rotors and brackets to fit different cars

The twin's front caliper is mounted in front of the axle while the rear caliper is mounted behind the axle. AFAIK it is not interchangeable. Source https://blog.racetechnologies.com/20...or-subaru-brz/

From that article:

Quote:
If the calipers are mounted in front of the axle by putting the left hand STI caliper on the right side of the BRZ/FRS and vice versa, then the staggered pistons are in the wrong order, which leads to rapid and significant taper wear on the pad, which causes a number of other problems with the brake system.
The front Brembo calipers on the BRZ have 4 identical size 40 mm diameter pistons.
Some STI calipers have staggered piston sizes, but some model years also have 4x 40 mm pistons. If you find a pair of those, and throw in the Evo rear calipers with 40 mm pistons in the rear, you might be able to get basically the same setup as PP brakes, perhaps for less money.

See also https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=144662 for more general info on PP Brembos.

Just to clarify guys, by universal we meant that when you go on endless brakes website you can buy a mono 4 kit regardless of vehicle. So we were wondering if the kit saltywetman bought was made specifically for the 86 chassis, or was one of those universal kits. Nothing to do with the same caliper front and rear. I'm certain the front and rear calipers are different for every application be it stock, PP, aftermarket...

installation of the GR decklid spoiler:
https://www.trdparts.jp/manual_pdf/g...42-18007-8.pdf

looks like it requires drilling, which means you need to swap out the bottom piece when doing a decklid swap.

wonder if the port actually does the installation? seems like a lot of work.

I find it really silly how the japanese TRD catalog used to be porn when I was a kid, and now there's a new model! Oh look an ion discharge sticker and aero stabilizing spray! Subaru's got wonky shit like a "flexible stiffner" for the rear bumper and "STi" battery hold down. Even Max Orido is peddling "magic fuse" snake oil.

Meanwhile at Sema in the US: Swaybars, quick shifter, catback, big intake.

Has Japan gotten stricter over the years as far as emissions go? Could be the reason we no longer see even catbacks offered from OEM performance branches. Only so much you can milk on suspension/brakes/aero so guess aero spray and a tiny discharge sticker is just a way to pad their bottom end? lol I still prefer japan made parts over even USA.

Wow, the aero spray and discharge sticker honestly make me think twice about considering any of this stuff. Legitimately reputation damaging. I mean I’m sure the other parts are fine, but why would anyone give their money to people that offer that crap?

Reminds me of https://jalopnik.com/how-a-box-of-ma...mos-1822559023
