No clue LOL.

I'm sure someone will chime in with it. I'm afraid the answer will be throw out bearing but we'll see.

Yeah - I'm back to thinking TOB. Unfortunately it's a known weak point on the earlier cars.

It's a weak point on all of 'em. Does the sound change when you tap the clutch pedal?

Not brakes. Periodicity is too high. Sounds like the driveshaft is rubbing on something.

when i tap the clutch no but when i throw it in neutral it quiets down. only when engine braking though when im on the gas or shifting gears it doesnt make a sound. and when the car is hot it also goes away. im stumped

plus i already replaced the clutch and TOB about 20k miles ago

Well, shit.

I didn't think it sounds like TOB. Engine braking is key. It sounds more like thin sheet metal rub/vibe. Engine/trans, all of it forward of the mid-pipe (articulating donut gasket thingy) tweaks a little bit under torque. I'd poke around there looking for something loose.

Any luck finding out what this was ? I have basically had the same ever since I replaced the OEM TOB with a stage 1 exedy clutch. I have noise while engining braking in the 5th, a little less in 4th and least in 1st. Goes away in neutral
