Christmas of 1997 I bought what I was told was the fastest computer available, an I.B.M. Aptiva S80. I was some pissed when they released the S90 just a week later. I ended up swapping the S80 for an S90 with a 17" CRT. Problem was there were only two expansion slots. I had to have a digital game port to play Falcon with my Thrustmaster HOTAS system so I added a top of the line Soundblaster card with said port. That left only one slot for a 3Dfx card. I started with a 2MB card and soon was up to an 8MB like all my buddies had. Then they are got a second card and ran them in SLI. I didn't have an open slot so that was not possible for me untill...

Quantum3D came along with their Obsidian2 (2 in 1) cards My local Electronic Boutique got in a 12MB card for the small sum of $889.00 CND. I couldn't sneak that one in past the wife. However it sat there for many months and finally it went on sale, (I think I got it for around $600) Still that was a lot of money at that time. I loved that card and ran it in many different computers. I've never been one to try and keep up each time something new comes out. I'm still running an Asus ROG Geforce GTX 980 in my last build. Gee, that was summer of 2015.

I should probably build a new PC sometime soon anyway...

It is supposed to release next week, I haven't seen anything on Best Buy as far as a pre-order or the item at all. Usually new releases are listen with a "Coming Soon' display. NVIDIA hasn't said much about authorized vendors either.

Nice!
I wish they would offer this option for the elite controllers.
Kinda stupid they don't.

Nice! Looks like they bundled some fun game demos with it too. I remember playing Incoming.

I loved the graphics those 3dfx cards generated. Golden age of PC gaming for sure.

Does any of you have an actual "Game Room", I'm trying to convert on of the extra rooms into an office/game room with some shelves for clothing items. Kinda need some inspiration.

Sort of. We have an area of our basement that is unfinished. In it I have a 70" TV and two older recliners that is used for gaming by my sons. I also have a separate room that is my WFH office, but includes my gaming PC and 3 27" monitors. (I use it with a KVM for my work laptop).

My plan is to build a racing/flight sim setup in the unfinished room. Just haven't gotten around to it.

@spcmafia, I should have added there is enough room in the unfinished space for a VR setup (Oculus 2) as well. We have a second room in our basement that is finished, and is used as a workout room but has enough floor space for a second VR setup. If we have a third one going, we clear some floor space in our family room.

Im going to have a week off around the holidays and my plans, among many other projects, is to transform that room into an office. I'll start with paint and furnishing. I think I still have some old game posters. I like 80's neon colors for illumination, so I'll go with that.

Ideally I would like to finish the basement, but that is a whole lotta money I don't have. Requires sealing it, insulating, etc. The house does keep going up in value and the boss lady seemed interested in the idea of moving sometime soon.

Finished the main story in FC6 in 38 hours. There is still lots to do including a weekly mission but I think I've had enough for the time being. I wish Ubisoft had taken more risk with the story. That is, the game had shown more moral ambiguity. What they showed was fairly safe. Can't risk upsetting too many people.

I've got nothing new to plat atm. Dying Light 2 in February; I'm looking forward to that.

Ubi pulled this with Breakpoint. They made it take place on a fictional island, with a fictional tech corps, and fictional security force. And then pitted you against Russia, but not Russia, just some made up super hero suit Russian baddies.

Got my email from EVGA wait-list that I reserved back in April? I can't remember because it was earlier this year. Got my hands on a 3060ti for about $450, after tax and shipping came to about $500. Giving it to my brother since I got a 3070ti and it's the last thing my brother needed to finish his build.
