I am by no means a track person(Maybe 3-4 times a year is what I am shooting for) and mostly being a weekend car.(I will be taking the train to work, and my new house is 2 miles from the station) I plan to do an upgrade on the breaks later this fall after wheels and suspension this summer(I hope) Just trying to do some research to see whats worth it and whats over kill. I am also thinking of just new pads that have better byte as long as the car stays NA. Lastly I only plan to do the front breaks. If I do anything to the back, it will be only pads. Don't waste money on big brakes, just get better pads and fluid. I'm running Ferodo DS2500's and ATE Super Blue fluid with stainless lines and it's much better than stock.

i second that. this car needs more power before it needs bigger brakes. im running trd pads and have to push them very hard before i notice any fade, and thats on stock fluid.

Ya i hv PMu club racer both F/R with Motul RBF600 fluids and so far did 250 laps w/o fading even at Laguna Seca and Sears Point both heavy braking tracks

I'm running the same compound front/rear as well. The only people that seem to be mixing compounds are people running Hawk pads since there isn't an HP+ for the rear yet so people run HP+ front and HPS rear.

225/45 Dunlop Z2's, on stock pads/fluid it was pretty easy to overheat the stock pads (without boiling fluid!) in just a few laps. Stock pads also didn't have enough bite to really trigger the ABS with the stickier tires, the new pads don't have that trouble at all.

Same or similar compounds front/rear.
If you're a fairly experience driver, you'll want a BBK to reduce operational cost. The Essex kit is unbeatable in terms of value. If you want bling, then pick any kit you want. I wouldn't be surprise if I finish off a set of PMU Club Racers in about 50 laps at Laguna on street tires. |

Why not, nothing wrong with doing so. All depends on your goals and how you want the car to handle, trail brake and etc...
To the OP. We have Ferodo DS1.11 on our red car all around with DBA T3 rotors up front and this combo dramatically increases braking as well. |
