It's a shame Toyota and Subaru don't share warranty across dealerships.

There is no grounds for warranty denial simply because the car has had non-OEM parts installed. This is true both in the verbiage of the warranty and in the law.

They say it twice. This warranty does not cover damage or failures resulting directly or indirectly from any of the following: Modification, alteration or tampering, disconnection, including installation of non-Toyota Accessories • Repairs and adjustments caused by improper maintenance, lack of required maintenance and/or the use of fluids, fuel, oil, or lubricants other than those recommended in your Owner’s Manual • Installation of non-Toyota Parts

Hope TRD come with catless UEL. Ford Racing lineup at least sell aftermarket parts (above msrp) and install it with warranty like Roush

Modifications beyond stock and the use of non approved parts is not a guaranteed warranty denial no matter who installed them. It's literally in the first line of the text you quoted. The onus is legally on the manufacturer which they will almost always try to get out of. The problem is most people aren't willing to lawyer up, understandably so. https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/16/700.10 |

I was not making broad and reaching statements about warranties in general. I do not see where the first line I quoted says anything about them having to prove the association. "This warranty does not cover damage or failures resulting directly or indirectly from any of the following" Oh and did you miss or ignore the last line of what you linked? "This does not preclude a warrantor from expressly excluding liability for defects or damage caused by “unauthorized” articles or service; nor does it preclude the warrantor from denying liability where the warrantor can demonstrate that the defect or damage was so caused." Their wording is well within the law. Cat manufacturers have good lawyer and they know what they are doing.

STI/TRD/GR add ons are considered manufacturer parts and fully covered by warranty.

The STi Cup car may not have all approved STi parts though.

there's a list of sti parts that are used and a much longer list of aftermarket parts that are approved for the cup series. teams can use any combination of any parts, but having a baffled oil pan option that wouldnt affect warranty is ideal for someone who cares for their vehicle's warranty
essentially the STI parts list its just full suspension/subframe bushings that we have had since gen1, sti coilovers(trying to get more info on these to see if its just a shock/spring or an actual adjustable coilover) and the baffled oil pan. Last edited by mycrors7; 08-01-2022 at 10:16 PM. |

I suggest everyone who has an Instagram or a Facebook account to post something like the picture below, and tag Toyota USA.
(picture not mine, but I think it is good meme material)
