Take pics and show them you traded rather than wrecked

I believe they are not the same color. The Whiteout and SWP won't match.

Can anybody also confirm this?

They are built in the same place in Subaru's plant. It's the same white

I believe it will definitely hurt resale value if you trade it in later, but as far as private party sales with my limited experience I have not seen anyone look for VINs on all (or any) the body panels. But then again it wasn't sports cars.

I think they are the same color, side by side they look the same. I parked my SWP BRZ next to a whiteout FR-S and didn't see any difference in color.

Yep, same color codes and all. The only difference is Subaru didn't use their Paprika Red Pearl to Scion/Toyotas Hot Lava.

So here's the question folks, Essentially we want to swap, one gets a spoiler, the other gets flat trunk and I want to know the best way to do it. Both of these cars are identical besides badging and we know VINs will be different and there really are only 2 ways to make this work:
1. Remove spoiler and patch holes and install spoiler on other car
2. Swap trunk lids (will also need to swap the lock mechanism of trunk to retain keys and swap badges, must also ensure alignment of lid and vin numbers wont match)

Any body shop folks want to chime in on this venture and its cost/value?

Looking at my trunk lid (and i'm putting this here for reference in case anyone else is doing the swap) it looks pretty simple (but i'd like you guys to chime in)

Step1: Remove the lock mechanism

Here you can see there a little wire that passes through the green portion and ends in a ball which is lodged between a U shaped anchoring piece, you'll need to twist this open to release the ball, which lets you pull off the lock portion

Step2: Unbolt the lock from the lid- this picture shows the wire/ball thing too

Step 3: Disconnect wire that powers lights, and remove rubber piece

This white connector at the top of the inside of the trunk is what needs to be disconnected, once this is disconnected you should be able to pull the trunk half of the wire back up through the hole in the body where the rubber piece was

Step4: Once this is done it should be a matter of unbolting the 4 bolts (2 on each side) that connect the trunk lid to the bracket (do not even undo the hydraulic things that hold it up, just lid from bracket)
2 on right:

2 on left:

at this point you should have one trunk lid off one of the cars, now do the same thing to the other car, while lying the first one on a bed of silk of course, and reverse the process and swap the badges, voila, trunk swap!

Ok will that work??
