Today i learned that replacing the 12V battery in a modern German made car requires you to "register" the battery to the ECU...... otherwise the car will utilize the battery charge unevenly and the battery will not last nearly as long as it should....
I dont think its EXCLUSIVELY A german thing but it seems to be an overengineered thing of most german makes.

Instead of just dropping in a new battery and be on your way......

bmw easily one upped themselves with the piss poor N63 twin turbo v8 which requires a new battery every oil change lmao

I'm on the "can't do it" list with my heart condition.

My wife gave a couple weeks ago and was weak and tired for a week. She decided that was the last time.
