Well better than those snobs over on Britmodeler!

Really they aren't snobs at all and I quite enjoy it over there even if most are in the UK.

Yeah, but with the exchange rate, it's a bargain.

It is coming from Winnipeg so I just swapped exchange for sales taxes.

Yep it cost a pile to ship even inside Canada. I think they send everything by moose. The same thing ordered from China or Japan would cost around $5 shipping if they charged at all. The problem then is I may get hit with duty and import charges that can sometimes be double the price of the order. Or they may charge nothing but you never know and seems to be at the whim of the border agents.
If I ordered it from the US it would probably be $40 or more shipping! None of it makes sense.

I got my original idea to do that crashed model from a thread in the modeling forum. The guy is building the intact plane for a museum display and posted the crashed picture along with his reference ones. I said I would love to do the crashed version and everybody thought I was joking. After some PMs and emails I convinced them I was serious and now, when I am done, the finished model will be getting shipped to England to be displayed in the USAAF 453RD BG museum!
The pressure is really on for this one!

Sweet!

If you are ever in Georgia, the Warner Robins Air Base Museum of Aviation (which I highly recommend in itself, and was discussed in a separate thread) has a large display of aircraft models assembled by various modeling clubs. It must have been 50 to 100 feet long.

As an aside, I have flown an airplane that is in the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum at Dulles in Washington, DC. It's a C152 Aerobat that was used for aerobatic school in Suwannee, TN. I took an aerobatics course at the school in the plane. It was donated after Bill Kershner (the owner, author of many aviation training manuals and known as the "Spin Doctor" for having done more than 8,000 spins in his career) passed away. They replaced it with an identical Aerobat.

Oh believe me if I am ever close by a museum I visit it. Ask poor @Ultramaroon how many museums or old ships I have dragged him through!

Good deal. If that happens let me know. I'm happy to go there anytime. We can also hit up a one or more of the Hobby Towns in Atlanta or Columbus where you can spend all your model money.

I think it's about a 2.5hr drive from where I am.. and about 1hr 20mins from Fensport where I sometimes take my car for "upgrades".. Hopefully my next trip to Fensport may coincide with your model making an appearance.

You could visit in person! Viewing with the throng of 5 may be rough though. I understand it is not a huge place but is still a functioning private airfield so has survived for 80 years.

Apparently they have the "best airfield Cafe/Bar in the UK." Certainly looks very "authentic". Perhaps ole @humfrz can confirm?
