How does the STI short shifter compare with the OEM shifter?

https://www.ft86speedfactory.com/sti...2013-ft86.html

I'm thinking of getting an STI short shifter but I'm not sure how the STI shift feels is for these cars nor do I know anyone with it to try it out.

bought one. liked it. not sure if id pay brand new for it
oe quality and didnt rattle. which is why i liked it
that said its not a huge "notice it" shifter I think back to back youd know but its not like a kartboy.

if it pops up on the used market id go for it

I'm having one installed a few weeks (hopefully).

If you shop around you can find some pretty good deals on it, even new.

I have the STI shifter and like it. It's a very subtle change, but it's really lovely. Plus fit and finish is 100%. I had the TRD on my FR-S and HATED it and didn't want to deal with the kartboy rattle.

TRD sells a full-column short shifter as well, if you care about that.

Does anyone know if this is the same as the STI short shifter that FT86SF has?

The U.S. TRD short shifter kit is the stupid thing you bolt on the end of your existing shifter. it is a joke and should be avoided.

The JDM TRD full column short shifter is the same part as the STI one.

I have one, and like it, but have to say it is quite expensive for such a small change. If there was a next time, I would probably just stay with stock.

Think so. FT86SF's listing was before it become an official STI Accessory for the US market.
