949Racing,

Great work on the upcoming Xidas, look forward to a great coilover for the 86!

Curious about another build area on your project car: Can you give us more detail on the OMP seat install? Which seat rails you used? Plug and play install? Seat fitment good? Currently it appears you are still using the stock seat belts with the OMP seats, working well in this configuration?

Thanks in advance!

Rails are PCI. Seats fits well. OMP HTE-R400 is one of our favorite seats. We use it in several builds. The narrower 400 on the driver side for better support with a slim driver. Standard HTE-R on pax side to fit a wider range of passengers.

That's awesome news and I 100% understand. I'm one of those crazies that'll be picking up a set of 17x10's as long as they can be fit with just a flat roll.

Just in general. Any changes made, still shooting for 3rd week August release for the single adjustable? etc. etc.

Xida, ah. Some clearance issues to correct, few geometry aspects to verify. The usual development obstacles. No ETA for any 86 Xida variant at current.

You mentioned your bolt-in rollbar in passing a few pages back and I was wondering if you have any more info?
Any reason you didnt go with the autopower?

We want to design a bar that can be user installed using couplers. A few other feat we would like to integrate. Not built yet, schedule hasn't allowed it yet.

What are these couplers you mention?

We have used these in the past when we needed a dual duty (HPDE/Street) setup with removeable bars. We also want to explore the possibility of making it bolt in. This, so it can be removed later if needed. No welding required so it can be installed at home. So not a pure floor mount for main hoop. No details yet as we haven't built anything. Just some rough sketches.

Something like this:

949 Racing: that bolt-in bar - mostly to attach multipoint harness? What do you think of rather something like Cusco's braces? As in one right behind back of rear seats + maybe brace for seats for other points (rear trunk / seats).
Way i see it, one behind seats during daily driving when using stock belt is hidden out of sight, doesn't take any extra space from boot nor cabin. And once on track, one just lowers back of rear seats and attaches multipoint harness to these braces?

The coupler might be used in the rear stays going to the back of the car. Idea being that we could reduce shipping costs and also make it a bunch easier to install.

Not a fan of any Cusco roll bars or cages. Some suspect engineering decisions. Main hoop with like eleventy bends. No thanks.
