You guys need to log afr, commanded afr , maf, manifold pressure, throttle , rpm , pprt amd direct injector pulse widths. Stft, ltft so you can see ehats going on.

High positive ltft at low rpm indicates intake or exhaust leaks, cracked header or similar

High negitive trims, often dirty maf sensor or oil on maf sensor

Afr cycling between very rich amd very lean like 11 to 15 fairly quickly at idle can be failed 02 sensor

But you need to log and confirm

Yes. Ended up being a bad coil pack. I replaced all 4 at the same time and it drove perfect. It wasn't apparent because I did not have a misfire code.

I know this was years ago at this point. But do you remember what your AFR was doing while this was going on? I am having the same issue, except I'm boosted. AFR stays at like 14.6 at idle but the stft goes to like - 25%.

Everything stays normal ish at cruising speed

I had a week or so where my fuel trims would go to -29%, car ran fine otherwise.

I pulled the MAF to clean it but it was spotless and bone dry... didn't do anything to it. i reinstalled the sensor and like magic my trims went back to +0-3%

Hasn't happened since.

I kinda did the same thing out of frustration. I am being tuned for forced induction, so these wild swings make tuning impossible and likely a little less safe.

So I cleaned the air filter, maf, map and TB all at one shot and it seems to have cleared up. Nothing looked perticularly dirty, but the issue seems to have gone away. \_(ツ)_/

I was turbocharged too. AFR was super rich because spark wasn't firing due to bad coil pack.

Were you having any notable running issues other than the super negative fuel trims?

Like if you didn't have the ability to datalog would you have had any reason to assume there was an issue?
