Angry Valenti Revo LED burned out already

After 1.5 years, I just noticed one of the LED's in the sequential turn signal light was burned out.

I contacted @86SPEED about warranty since I found nothing on their website, nor on Valenti Japan's site about the duration of a warranty.

@86SPEED contacted Valenti and this is Valenti's response:

"I am so sorry to tell you we just have one year warranty.

so it has beyonded the warranty period.

And Our lamp repair only for Japan domestic.

He has to purchase another new one.

So sorry i can't help you."

I asked @86SPEED if there was something they could do since the manufacturer basically said "too bad, so sad", not even an offer to send it back to them for repair, so I'm waiting to hear back from @86SPEED now.

After spending $550.00 for tail lights, I fully expected them to last more than a year and a half. I have incandescent lights on my 2004 Toyota Tacoma that are still original, LED's should last far longer, especially since it in the turn signal which probably gets the least amount of on time.

Needless to say, I’m very disappointed, not necessarily with the light itself but more so with the manufacturers response. At this point, if they think I'm going to spend another $550.00 on their tails...they are out of their minds!

Things happen to hardware...I get it, even beyond the so-called warranty period, it's how a company responds that makes the difference between a positive and negative customer experience. I've worked on the service/support side of a very large Japanese manufacturer myself for the last 30 years so I know a thing or two about taking care of customers, even outside of the black and white or what's implied or not.

I hope you all have better luck with your Valenti's.

that sucks, I have valenti's on my car. it's probably not the bulb but more likely bad solder or connection. you could cut it open and try to repair it.
I kept my stock tails just in case....

Sell the good taillight for $180 and the bad one for $40. Use this money + $230 to buy used OEM ‘17 lights and put the stock flasher module back in.

Then say fuck the bullshit.

Check if the credit card you purchased the tails with offers any additional warranty.

My Amex gives an extra year on top of whatever manufacturer warranty. If the item breaks during that time and manufacturer refuses to fix for free, Amex gives me my money back.

Same thing happened to my spec-d headlights. I mean I get it, but companies just want to make their money and move on.

Seems as though valentis have a reputation for premature failure in general.

I don't know. Of the thousands of them on the road I would think there would be more people complaining if that was the case.

I think you have terrible luck. My valentis are doing just fine and they were the first mod I did

I consider bulbs of any type wearables. And i'd think that it's in manufacturer interests to provide at extra cost replacements for them to not warrant replacement of whole light cluster just because one element going off. Cases like these just worsen rep of vendor. Not getting, why they chosen to design in non-serviceable way, why no bulbs (or in this case led element) only replacement possible, why they weren't a bit more helpful (if anything, they might have directed to some DIY info for fixing/replacing by oneself, if that's not warranty case anymore).

1 year is a VERY common warranty duration for almost all electronics and for many aftermarket parts. I understand OPs frustration, but I don't think there should be surprise really at all.

There are a lot of options but getting the mfg or vendor to fix it for free after the warranty is up is asking for something neither would ever likely have done.
