Did ever think about going standalone?

My biggest problem with the factory ecu is that you can't tune out the throttle delay

Throttle delay? Maybe it is because my other car is from 2002, but I don't notice any delay.

My 2005 makes me feel the same way. Get on a car with cable actuated throttle and you will notice it immediately.

Ah, that makes sense. My 02 isn't cable driven.

Yeah, it's night and day between cable driven cars and most dbw cars. Especially from off throttle to on throttle transitions.

And since the OP is going for throttle response with the NA setup and ITBs I figured that would be a big deal.

Unfortunately the embedded sw in the factory ecu does not allow for throttle delay to be minimized, only throttle body opening percentage vs throttle pedal position to be changed.

i remember you planning to use a plenum/surge tank. so this would be required in order to use a maf and the original ecu correct?

Pedal dance it. Even disabled via the button, *throttle delay comes from VSC processing all the vehicle inputs before ignoring them.

If you're sensitive enough to notice the latency, you'll immediately feel the difference after truly cutting VSC out of the logic.

Edit: *I need to clarify that this is my running theory. Apologies for stating it as fact.
