First time trying out racerender...and I like it



First time setting up the sync and stuff. It wasn't too difficult and turned out ok.

Also, I'd like to point out that the desktop application is free. The free version is only good for 3 minute clips, doesn't have all of the options for all of the gauges, and leaves a logo in the upper right corner. For an autox this works out great. For a track day you might have to render separate videos for each lap and then edit them together in another program (http://racerender.com/Products/index.html)

I used a cheap bluetooth obd ii device and "torque pro" on my phone to record the other stuff.

The syncing things up takes a few minutes to figure out. Basically you move the data timeline around until it matches what you see on screen. I found that using the location got me roughly to where I should be and then looked at the RPMs to get it even closer.

It will take data from a lot of different sources and can figure out what some of it means on its own. If you have a better gps receiver you could also import that as a data source. So, once the romraider logging is good this can get even better (Though, that would mean investing in a tactrix device for me.)

I will be trying this out in a few weeks with a track day. I'll let you know/see how it goes.
