Damn you guys!!! I was just gonna cut holes or vents into my stock engine cover but I saw this thread.. so off to ft86speed factory. Damn need 250$ for free shipping so might as well get the carbon hood struts which o have been meaning to get to remove that ugly hood prop. Lets hope this helps with engine temps because after adding the supercharger the engine bay is a furnace...

Another fun day at Ridge Motorsport Park. Didn't beat my personal best. Im wrestling with getting my heel-toe and heavy braking to be consistent. Still doing 2:05-2:06s with indy 500 firehawk with about 8 track days on them. First day with the beatrush under-panel. temps were down 2-3 c from what I remember. Nothing scientific though.

That's disappointing to hear temps did not go down with the beatrush under panel..

Doesn't mean that it isn't more effectively cooling the headers. When installing the underpanel I noticed heat damage to the Styrofoam around the headers since I have an aftermarket headers that is coated.

Had a bunch of cash back sitting on my CC so I bought myself a little treat!

DAMD 2017+ brz steering wheel!
Just installed and drove around the block. Initial impressions is install is very easy. The smaller wheel size is nice and the flat bottom feels a lot different then the OEM steering wheel. So far I like it the looks are great and I love the strip at 12. Once I take it out of a track day Ill have a better idea if the smaller diameter is better for the track.(which I think is the general consensus around the web.) The feel of the leather is softer then OEM and the perforation is nice.

Packaging:

Unboxed:

Sizing between OEM and DAMD. DAMD is smaller and has flat bottom.

Photo dump from Area27.
Fun out at area27. First time at the track. Its brand new and all the pavement is in great shape. I went off twice Nothing serious though. Just coming in a little hot on two of the turns. The day was less then perfect as it was damp and rainy most of the day despite the photos I am going to post.(photos all taken early in the day when it was sunny). That was a bumper as my tires have about ~9 track days on them and our quiet slippery in the damp conditions. So I was driving on the tamer side most of the day. The last session of the day the track dried up and I got a decent run in which was fun. Car is ready for brake fluid flush, oil change, trans oil change, diff oil change. Planning to get all that done before my next track day on sept 14th. Also changing to 5w-30 oil as that is what is recommended in the manual for "hard" driving.

I'm on the fence about upgrading my tires. Ive been really consistent on the set of tires that I have. They still have more life in them. But i'm hitting the limits on my regular tracks. Currently running the indy 500 firehawk which is a 340 treadwear tire. Im thinking on upgrading to ADVAN sport V105 which is a 240treadwear tire. This would be a decent grip improvement without going too far. Opinions and thoughts are welcome.

I wish I could have ran Area 27. I am so jealous.

If you are still having trouble with heel-toe sit in my car net time I see you. I have the Cusco pedal plate. It made all the difference to me. I also spaced my throttle pedal out 10mm since I have smallish feet.

Any thoughts on my tire dilemma? Let's talk on sept 14 about the heel toe

I don't know anything about the Advan but it seems like it could be a good compromise. The SX2 is also always an option but it seems to proform really poorly in the wet.
