Boost questions.

So I'm looking into acquiring a 2014 FRS but I have some questions. I would want to boost it but I don't know what the engine is good for power numbers. I'm wanting to try and get power numbers around 400whp. What would I have to do to the engine to make it hold the power. Thanks for any help!

It would have to be 93. No where conveniently around me has anything else.

Lower compression Pistons, forged rods, turbo.

That's not counting the oil cooler, and trans upgrades to handle the power. Perhaps even axels if you like to launch it. Brakes and tires to keep you from crashing and driving up the insurance rates.

Do we have any idea what kind of power numbers the transmission is capable of before grenading?
I can't find anything. It's all from 2012 when the car first came out and no one knows.

You're gonna need to build your engine.

Typically anything over 285wtq is a ticking time bomb.

My advice is stick to the Camaro if you want 400 whp on 93 octane.

Depends on how long you want to make 400hp.....

How did you decide you needed 400hp anyway? Why not 350? Or 450?

let me think, you want to make 400whp on a car that is originally designed to make only 165-170whp ..that's nearly 2.5 times of the current output.. unless you have deep pockets and time, it sounds like a very bad idea

If you are talking about turbocharging the car before you even purchased one, then this is not the car for you. Buy something else that already comes with more power and save yourself the headache.

This couldn't be more true. If you need more power before even driving the car then you should just cross it off your list.

but why? I knew that I was going to order some sort of FI solution before even purchased my car simply because FA20 engine sucks big time in stock form when it comes to throttle response and the torque dip, it's also extremely underpowered the only real solution to overcome that is to get some sort of FI.. the problem here is the power goals IMO, 400whp is just too much and will definitely cause a lot of headaches down the road
