Pretty sure I have the crickets starting recently at 3400 miles. Noticed just after first oil change don't know if that would have caused anything.. :'(

Eaten some myself (after one or two drinks) and kinda liked it! At least I know I'm one step closer to NOT being the annoying one in Naked and Afraid.

The answer most likely lies in a Tcoat and Ultramaroon flavored reality check

(Hope reading 5 more pages doesn't make a fool out of me)

They're quite tasty. Not kidding.

I haven't heard crickets yet, but my car only has 540 miles on it. About to put its third tank of gas in. We'll see.

Sorry guys.
Can confirm, they're still alive :'( Now I understand how you guys felt all this time. The worst part is with my windows down I can hear it over my exhaust..kind of makes me want to make my car louder. Did you guys say Chevron gas helps?

Brand does not seem to matter. Some swear by one and others say it is the worst. I guess it is pretty much whatever the local ethanol percentage is. We tend to forget that the pumps say "up to XX%" so it isn't a precise art. I found two stations near me that never result in crickets but if I get the same brand elsewhere they appear out of nowhere.

You may not get them until summer when it warms up. They don't like cooler weather.

Some, including myself, have found that adding ~3-4 oz of 2 cycle TC-W3 oil to each full tank of gas greatly reduces the crickets and makes the engine quieter in general. I've been doing it since new (nov 2012) with great results.
Can get it at Walmart:

I'm sure he's only heard reports. I don't believe they have heat in Canada.

Just had it put in at 1/4 tank. Old fuel pump was chirping on this same tank of gas. New fuel pump is not chirping.. yet. The car feels a little smoother in terms of acceleration. Could be placebo?

It's pretty funny when we have a meet. We all pull into a spot singing a full on chorus.

It's all part of the charm.
