ESSEX,
That is helpful info (as to what works). I actually quit a Facebook group because the Administrator would not let up on harassing me about why I wanted something other than the stock 2022 BRZ slider brakes. He said racers were using them front and rear... That people win with the sliders on the rear or even the rear and front is great, but Brembo, Wilwood and others offer full-car BBK's and in 2017 BRZ started offering Brembo BBK's for some stupid reason! While I'm just doing track days I'm an ex-SCCA racer and Solo racer. The BRZ is replacing a 2,900 pound STI with 470 HP. I have the 355mm StopTech BBK on the front and am using Girodisc rotors on the rear of it. Cooling ducts and DTC 70's all around. I run WGI frequently and do ST2 lap times, and that's with a non-aerodynamic hatch. I use my brakes as if I'm racing. I could show you a picture of my glowing front rotor... My point is I don't want heavy iron brakes on my BRZ no matter how well they function as brakes. I'm spending $1000 more than I must to have light, 17" racing wheels. I'm pretty frustrated, as I can't even find BBK's yet where manufacturers are saying they have an adapter that works on the new aluminum front knuckle. I'm also willing to ditch the emergency brake in the rear. |

@JRitt
Have a question for you. I saw the rally kit in yesterday's email ad and it got me thinking. Would it be possible to add the Disk Hat with the +10mm spacer built in as an option to the BRZ Sprint Kit? It looks to be already dual drilled, uses the same caliper, and the built in 10mm spacer would be great for the guys running 17x9 +45 for the rear wheel clearance. The fixed hat would be fine for us AutoX'ers, as we don't put a lot of temp in the brakes anyways. Thanks for all you do for our community! -Brock |

Update:
We have put together a document that explains our fitments for all Gen.1 and Gen.2 cars. It should answer most questions you might have, and you can read it here: Toyobaru 86 Brake Kits: Gen.1 vs. Gen.2 We also put together an article that examines the choice between our 299mm and 325mm kits: 86 299mm vs. 325mm AP Racing by Essex Brake Kit Comparison Thanks gents!

Here's '22 fitments on Enkei RPF1 17x9+45's. Sprints look like they'll need 20mm of spacer (two 10mm stacked in this photo):
![]() Endurance look like they'll clear with 15mm no problem, maybe as little as 12-13mm. Pictured here is a single 10mm spacer, making slightly contact but I wouldn't trust a cardboard trim for complete accuracy: ![]() |
