Coming from the Focus ST community, the Cobb Accessport is very highly regarded, mainly due to abundant support by tuners (vs the SCT). The bulk of tuners use/support Cobb in that community.

My OFT v2 Story.

I don’t think so. Cobb would cost ~$800, with not many benefits over the OFT. At that point you might as well save a bit longer and get Ecutek.

Pretty sure when I just looked it up,it was $600. You get OTS tunes like OFT,but better support and what looks like a more quality device. The extra $200 seems to be worth it.

Are the OTS tunes open or locked?

Is it offered for the twins?

As far as I know, they are not offered for our cars. Not sure about open or locked either. I did read on their site that there are of the shelf tunes as well as the ability to work with shops to get custom tunes.Seems like it has all of the features like data logging as well, but it's all a moot point anyway.

Well, there you go. Cobb would be a great comparison, if they deemed it profitable to have support for the twins. But they don't.

I like the ability to see and adjust my own tune as a hobby.

Cobb tunes are locked.

The accessport price also varies by platform. $675 for an STI, $900 for a 911. The more niche the platform, the more it costs.

Maybe making that extra money from erase credits would be economically advantageous for them to provide better support, especially to those that bought it second hand.
Erase credits? That's a thing?

Yup, the OFT server has a counter of erases. It seems they planned to charge at some point for recharges. But they give them away for free, but you need to contact them.

That... is dumb. I can't imagine charging people for erase credits would have gone well in the end.

So Openflash finally responed to my email,15 days later! No company should take that long to respond to a support request of their product. Talk about a surefire way to lose business.

I would tend to agree, but before I started this thread,I looked up the two profiles of the guys from Openflash that have posted on here. One hasn't logged in since 2017 and the other since last year. Maybe there's other guys besides those two,but with how slow the response was,I doubt it.
